1. The fresh copy has a /boot/vmlinuz and /boot/vmlinuz-huge both pointing to one file. Wonder why. Of course when you have a 32 bit kernel installed by default, but not the case, i guess? normal : it's the way liloconfig works (slackware vanilla) 2. The OOTB alt+f4 key combination does works only ...

it depends on the size of the hdd :

on a 100GB HDD :
20GB for /
10GB for swap
70GB for /home (the remaining space)

full install takes just 20 minutes.

If you have a dedicated root partition (separate /home partition), it's usually faster than upgrading

just my 2 cents ;)

The main "zenwalk" mirror is configured by default in netpkg : http://download.zenwalk.org/x86_64/current/zenwalk/

It depends of the size of the usb?


the USB has to be at least the size of the ISO :)

The only thing you have to do is copy the ISO image on the USB device :

dd if=zenwalk8.0.ISO of=/dev/some_usb_device bs=1M

then boot the USB device

install process is nearly the same as Slackware, just a bit simplified in Zenwalk.

USB media and terse mode install are defaults.

where sdc is the USB device
