Zeq, Maybe it needs to be 'beefed up' a little.  I am running a 1 GHz Athlon with 384 Mb of RAM, ATI Radeon 9600 Pro video card, ASUS on-board sound and a creative hardware modem.  Worked great with Slackware 8.0 through 10.2.  Lots of problems since switching to Zenwalk 2.8 through 4...

I have to apologize.  I thought I installed the /extra files.  I didn't.  The applications show up in the menus. Anyway, I do find gnome sluggish compared to Xfce, but at least it hasn't crashed yet.  I do get a lot of 'application not responding' and have to do a lot of 'force q...

Installed ZenGnome 2.16.  Everything seemed to start ok.  Definately gnome. The gnome menus seem to be the same as my Xfce menus.  I did not see some of the applications that installed. Question: How do I access the gnome applications from the graphical menu?  Is there a 'find ap...

Zeqadious, Have you considered putting your gnome files in one package? Since my Zenwalk machine only has slow dial-up capability, I typically download packages with a Windows machine on a T-1 connection and copy to my Zenwalk machine.  Thus, I cannot use netpkg, or any other linux package tool...

My memory is somewhat fuzzy, but I seem to remember using the 'CP/M' operating system on homebuilt 'personal' computers in the late 70's - early 80's.  I don't remember hearing about (ms)DOS until later.
