"I would not recommend Zenwalk to Linux first-timers because of its text-based installer, but to those who are persistent enough, using it and setting it up is fairly straightforward."

I totally agree with it.

Hi mumpf.

I totally disagree,

If users did not come from MS Windows - then they would have an easier time learning Zenwalk than learning MS Windows ... or - that statement assumes all people are alike - but people are different.

Welcome Windows Users explains in some details this issue - at the moment it has been read by more than 25000 readers.

Best regards,
Claus

^^ I don't know why reviewers keep giving out about text based installers.... Having installed various versions of windows using the horrible "press c if you are sure, press enter if you are sure" method, I consider Linux text based installers(especially Zenwalk's) to be rather easy to use.

Thanks the Zen team for keeping this amazing distr. alive and up-to-date. Thanks and mega-respekt!

Gonna try 4.8 in the nearest future. Using Zen since 4.2 and through all of its subsequent releases haven't found anything serious to complain about so far.. The only thing that I think was not worth changing (imho) is Firefox and Thunderbird, good old and stable.

Just upgraded one of the packages on my Zen 4.6 from the "current" repository and it installed this "excuse for a browser" Iceweasel as a dependency package. At the same time Firefox mysteriously disappeared. Iceweasel (apart from its really lame Logo) turned out to be a poorly recompiled Firefox with a flat interface and (dunno why) running definitely slower..

Again, that's my personal opinion, but is there a chance to see Firefox back as a default browser in the next releases?
