Want to maintain e17 ?

Post by hyperion » Sat Nov 11, 2006 9:27 am

We need someone to take care of e17 in Zenwalk.

The goal is to build and maintain an official e17 package.

-> same look and feel as the default Zenwalk theme
-> Working out of the box without user intervention
-> Desktop + epplets only ("e" apps like terminal emulator or filemanager should be optional separate packages)

Someone wants to contribute this ?

Thanks

JP

Great !

Take the time to understand it deeply. I heard that compiling e17 requires some experience..

They've moved to .desktop files from the piece of crap they used before (can't remember the name, but they sucked).

I've just compiled an E17.  Compilation is very easy, just need to follow the order given at Get-E.org

I used the snapshots from http://enlightenment.freedesktop.org/ cause CVS was taking too long.

I guess the difficult part is making the modifications to customize the menus, and adapt the look and feel.

BTW, a newbie question.  How do you make apps use gtk themes under E17?

I guess I need to run a deamon in xinitrc but didn't find it.

There's some xfce thing you can run (experiment by typing xf, then tab in the terminal). Alternatively, you can mess around with your ~/.gtkrc-2.0.

xfce-mcs-manager
