Hmm, this didn't change the slowness..
I had found this:
http://cairographics.org/FAQ/#profiling
but the slackware cairo-package hasn't got trace. Mine has, but then there is no problem. Feels like a chicken-and-egg problem.....
But, one day, I will find out.

One more thing about Cairo/Gimp, not nagging, just information:
I just ran htop when using resize from the Gimp toolbox (not image-resize). With the slackware cairo-package one of the cpu's runs up to a 100% (while nothing seems to be happening), doing the same with my cairo-package it just hits 16% max. (and no waiting). I'm not saying my package is perfect, I'm just not content with the slackware one... :(

Well, as far as I can see not much.
I have /usr/bin/cairo-trace, slackware has /usr/bin/cairo-sphinx.
I am missing these two:
/usr/include/cairo/cairo-tee.h
/usr/include/cairo/cairo-xml.h

/usr/lib looks the same

The 60 items in /usr/share/gtk-doc/html/cairo look the same, but I don't know about their contents.

I just built Cairo without any options, I don't know why cairo-sphinx didn't appear, but as it worked I just let it rest. The only thing I found about sphinx it had something to do with debugging????

Thanks, Blackbird

Hi there,

first, I am happily surprised that Zenwalk is still alive. 8)

But I tried in VirtualBox (v4.2.20) and I get a kernel panic regardless what kernel I boot. The default kernel (optim?) produces a completely black screen. What does that mean? ???

As long as you provide no information at all about your problem : I can't help you.

please post , at least, the hardware config of your VM.

Perhaps you could ask at Virtualbox:

This is an older post but sort of the same problem.

maybe.........

EFI/BOOT/*: Added.
I am hearing that more recent versions of UEFI *do* support the ISO9660
filesystem, and that just putting this directory on the ISO image will
make the disc bootable. I do not have a real UEFI machine, but I made an
ISO (instructions in isolinux/README.TXT) and it boots here on VirtualBox.

That is really strange. It's the second time that I see Oracle's loosing fixes from older VBox releases again in newer updates. It's confusing. S!

If this is the problem....
Haven't used Virtualbox myself yet, still gathering courage to get Windows to run under Virtualbox, because, how frustrating, some things aren't there for linux. :(

Good luck, Blackbird

Hi!

Replace SCSI device by an IDE one in virtual machine.
It should install then.

The boot was fast and out the box ZW detected my hardware very well. Sony vaio vpc-ee37fl.
My additional to the other obersavacion is, when I connecting the WIFI with NetworkManager This does not allow me add the Password atomaticaly with some dialog box for this,
I had to edit the Connection Network and modify the Security manually.
On the other side I have not tried to install the proprietary driver of my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Serie P4in-4ss.
