@ Oskar

The reason is in my previous post in this thread - I compiled it myself and ogmrip seems to work - it is not my favorite ripper but easy to use and its no big deal to compile support for xvid into the mplayer package.. Apart from that I agree - there are better ways for encoding than xvid.

Mplayer plugin for firefox seems to be gone on mplayer-1.0rc1-i486-42.5.tgz, is this intended?

I hope so, I couldn't get the previous builds to play quicktime files properly in Firefox and resorted to finding a different build of mplayer so that I could install the plugins separately.

No it's a bug in the package. Sorry, I will fix it right now.

For me it has been working with quicktime files. Can you post one site where you can't see quicktime files?

and thanks JP for the quick release of a correction, I will test it soon.

No Quicktime with newest updates

Post by Bazbo » Wed Jan 10, 2007 1:19 am

Hi,

I tried upgrading Firefox, then installing the latest Mplayer.  I get many error windows when I try to view video from the Apple site. I sort of wanted to see Steve Job's keynote from today.

first error:
Fatal Error!
No Stream found

Underneath that, a window with the MPlayer logo.

Then,

Failed to open:
(A long string of characters that I couldn't copy/paste which then disappeared)

The MPlayer transport window opens, and you can see a lot of characters scrolling by.
Any ideas?

I have an AMD 64 CPU running Zenwalk 4.0.
