Re: Zenwalk 7.9.3 is ready

Hello Guys,

Yesterday i did download/upgraded all latest from official repo which majorly had XFCE 4.12 packages.

I updated all packages from http://slack1.zenwalk.org/pub/slackware ... 64-current
but ended up with broken Network manager. The netpkg did not download or installed the dependency package libndp. This needs fix.

Next, the login window background is full white (broken) and this was due to the package upgrade of lxdm which was on a different repo i.e download.zenwalk.org. Since the upgrade from first repo resulted in broken stuffs, could not upgrade from second repo.
I wonder why 2 repos is required and this results in alot of confusion and i have to check both the repos for upgraded packages.
Can we have an auto mirror reroute to install the dependency packages from a secondary repo. It would solve alot of confusion and issues

XFCE Mixer is broken, it states libgstaudio is missing. Though gstreamer and related plugin packages are present, but they are of 1.4.X version. Now it needs 0.0.X version. Installed the 0.0.X versions and its working. This needs fix.
I wonder why and should i remove the 1.4.X version?

Thanks

Don't exactly know where to post this, but last week I installed Zenwalk 7.9.5, updated it and everything seems to be working except the installation of my HP-printer. I think it has something to do with permissions? It finally installed using the commandline but then it kept throwing up errors and no printing. I reverted hplip back to version 3.15.2, removed the printer and added it again, this versions of hplip asks for authentication, and then installs the printer with no problem.
Once the printer is installed I can upgrade hplip again to version 3.15.9, so the problem has something to do with permissions at installing a printer.
Anyone else notice this?

I also noticed that there is no firewall being supported OOTB, which earlier not the case. I fail to get a Firestarter (earlier supported package) in the repos.

Jp, will there be any support for the firewalls soon?

I tried reading an article, nothing went in.
I would be happy to use the old GUI based netfilter though ;)
