great !!

just in time : I was thinking about building XFCE 4.12 this week... I will test his packages first.

If they are ok, I will push them to Netpkg

I try them, except whiskermenu-plugin
Everything seems to work also the right click "set as walpaper"
There was only a problem with places-plugin that stop working
I had to download the tar from the git and compile
Looks faster, not big changes

I found that I can't create a shortcut to the side pane, both using the right click
or using drag and drop. I mean everything looks normal but as soon I reopen Thunar
the shortcuts there are not more there.

or using drag and drop. I mean everything looks normal but as soon I reopen Thunar
the shortcuts there are not more there.

Same here, even after updating thunar-archive-plugin. In my xsession-errors I found:

Code: Select all

(Thunar:930): thunar-WARNING **: Failed to write "/home/sheila/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks": Failed to create file '/home/sheila/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks.EXCGVX': Permission denied

The gtk-3.0 folder in .config was owned by root, after changing owner to myself the thunar problem seems to be solved.

I' ve got the same one, this is on the latest Zenwalk version with the new XFCE packages
On my notebook I noticed the same thing, the gtk3 folder in .config is owned by root, and here I haven't updated XFCE.

Funny about the gtk-3.0 folder, I wonder why it is owned by root. On my notebook it is, on the testing machine it is, on my desktop it isn't. But perhaps I changed that in the past, can't remember....
But things are working now, I rather like the new 'intelligent' panel.

Hello JP,

Today i tried to install the zw 7.9.x on my laptop which was running zw7.4 successfully so far.
Every thing went very well till installation. I am using triple booting here viz. Ubuntu, zw, windows 7. And boot loader is Grub of Ubuntu.

After rebooting into Zw, i experienced :kernel panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown block. The system refuses to boot,

My Grub config:

Code: Select all

menuentry "Slackware Linux (Slackware 14.1) (on /dev/sda3)" {
   insmod part_msdos
   insmod ext2
   set root='(hd0,msdos3)'
   search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 390369c2-b114-4569-87cd-d2e64a092004
   linux /boot/vmlinuz-generic-3.14.27 root=/dev/sda3 resume=/dev/sda10 acpi=off
}

Screen shot: http://i62.tinypic.com/99048i.jpg

Kindly please help. The online forums suggests degrading the kernel. Without a live cd here, i am a bit clueless as how to proceed.

EDIT:
Changing to vmlinux-huge kernel did solve the issue i had.

However, following issue with netpkg prevails.
Whenever i try to do something with netpkg in CLI, i get this error.

Code: Select all

bash-4.3# netpkg mirror

Current mirror is :
Cleaning cache
Connecting to mirror
Uncompressing meta information
Unable to extract meta information, please check the network or choose another mirror

Though i have internet and i am writing here on the same ZW, i still dont understand why netpkg cant access network. Tried via root user account as well. Still same issue.

Bug Report:
Executing Menu -> Internet -> wpa_gui application fails with below error dialog:

Code: Select all

Failed to execute command "kdesu wpa_gui".

Looks like QT lib is missing in the default installation.
wpa_gui: error while loading shared libraries: libQtGui.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I wonder why its included in the default ISO when QT is excluded.

no Qt in Zenwalk, until we decide to switch to KDE :)

wpa gui uses Qt, but I can't do anything to change this
