Why this error message related gtk but not in Slackware 14.2

Post by rsamurti » Mon Jul 04, 2016 9:04 am

Hello,

I installed GNU Octave which I had compiled on Slackware 14.2 on Zenwalk-8.0. This program was working fine on Slackware 14.2. But in Zenwalk-8.0, when I start the program, I get this error message:

Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property `GtkRange::activate-slider' of type `gboolean' from rc file value "((GString*) 0xbad480)" of type `GString'
Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property `GtkRange::activate-slider' of type `gboolean' from rc file value "((GString*) 0xbad480)" of type `GString'

What is wrong? Any pointers?

Thanks for your help.

Anand

I think it's related to the theme engine used in zenwalk.

Please try editing /usr/share/themes/MediterraneanDarkest/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

replace :

Code: Select all

   GtkScrollbar         ::activate-slider          = FALSE

with :

Code: Select all

   GtkScrollbar         ::activate-slider          = 0

tell me :)

Cheers
JP

Hello JP,

Yes! This solved the problem. Is it possible to provide updates to the Zenwalk ISO image?

Thanks for your help.

Maybe 1 Zenwalk ISO every year, based on Slackware current if I believe it's stable enough.

Else : Zenwalk is a like Slackware : rolling release, based on Current
